Our clients bought this vacation home with the goal of creating a Vacation Home that had the “Florida” feel. We had a very tight timeline in which the client wanted the home to be useable for the family members to come stay. Gail Barley Interiors worked with a contractor to quickly remodel the Florida Room into a livable family space, with a card table to be used as a dining area, while we worked on the remainder of the home. Minor remodeling was accomplished in the Living Room, Florida Room, Kitchen, and Primary Bathroom, with decorating services provided by Gail Barley Interiors for every room of the house.

Bay Hill was a second home that our clients intended to use for family vacations. Gail Barley Interiors oversaw the entire interior decorating process, ensuring a cohesive and beautifully curated space with personalized touches for the family. In particular, this client requested “wallpaper everywhere” and a “brighter, more Florida feel”. We were able to apply wallpaper to every space except for the kitchen and hallways as well as bring liveliness and light with a very Florida palette.

Gail Barley Interiors created a fully functional, turn-key vacation home for our clients with sheets on the beds, cutlery in the drawers, and cleaning products on-site.
Color Palette
Our clients wanted a very “Florida” feel. We achieved that with a color palette full of blues, aquas, greens, pinks, oranges, and purples. A sunset in Florida.
Unique challenges
While our clients wanted to move in quickly, we had several aspects of the renovation work that needed to be completed first. One of the large challenges was the existing floor tile that needed to remain, as well as the centralized fireplace with stacked stone that did not feel like it belonged in a Florida home. We were able to re-work the fireplace to a more traditional profile and added a ready-made mantel for time. We sourced additional floor tile from the original supplier and were able to fill in any gaps created in the floor. We removed built-ins in the Living Room and Florida Room to create better floor plans for this client and to create new focal points. Consideration was also given to the Kitchen. While a full kitchen remodel was outside of the budget and timeline, Gail Barley Interiors was able to work within the existing footprint, providing new backsplash, assistance with new appliances, new countertops, and a pantry area.
Project Timeline
The clients wanted to be able to move-in and use the space within 4-6 weeks. We were able to complete the Florida Room and minor remodeling as well as provide beds, dish ware, cleaning products, and other essentials so that the clients could come and stay. The full project took 3-5 more months to be fully utilized and completed.
