About LAKE CONWAY
This client had lived in her home for close to twenty years and was ready for a Kitchen and Primary Bath remodel. Multiple contractors had suggested tearing out the wall between the Kitchen and Dining Room space, but our client loved the separation it provided. Our goal was to maintain loved features (a swinging door to the kitchen!) that worked, while also giving our client a fresh and colorful update. The final result is an updated home that still feels classical and inspired by the age of the house.
Full Service Interior Decorating and RENOVATION Project
Lake Conway was a single family home on the Conway chain of Lakes in Orlando, FL. Gail Barley Interiors oversaw the entire interior decorating and remodeling process, ensuring a cohesive and beautifully curated space with a heavy emphasis on color, Florida-style, and incorporating the existing antiques and pieces that our homeowner already loved.
SCOPE OF WORK
The client required a full kitchen remodel. This included a reworking and reimagining of the existing kitchen layout and a new addition to create a larger primary bathroom and closet space.

Special attention paid to the location
This home has a fantastic lake view from almost every room. We wanted to ensure we maintained that as well as providing for a more “lakeside” feel in our design.
Interior Decorating StylE
This client loves vintage and antique items and you can see them throughout her home. She leans classical and traditional in her stylings, and her home is now a beautiful reflection of that.
Color Palette
Our client particularly liked the idea of a pink bedroom and bathroom. Her primary suite is perfectly, softly pink without going too far for her husband. We used the fabric on the back of the dining room chairs as our inspriation for the entire living, dining, and kitchen palette. Pulling pinks, purples, teals and greens into all three spaces.
Curated Items
Believe it or not, this dining set came from Ebay and was originally upholstered in a dark blue vinyl!
Unique challenges
One of the hardest parts of this home remodel and design was finding the best way to build out the primary bathroom. The primary bathroom addition ended up extending the roofline over the dining room. To ensure cohesiveness from the exterior, we added the bay window in front of the tub, stacked on top of the bay window in the dining room. You would never know there’s a large addition from outside!
