About NOBIS

Our client came to us in the blueprint stage of their new construction home. They were ready for a brand new start in Florida and wanted their home to reflect their fabulous sense of style. Fun, colorful, and with a little bit of glam thrown in. Gail Barley Interiors assisted in all selections for the house, including but not limited to, floor plans, tile, countertops, flooring, paint colors, exterior finishes, lighting, and plumbing fixtures. Gail Barley Interiors also assisted in selecting, designing, and providing all furnishings in the house except for a few key elements. The main family spaces all feature performance or readily-cleanable fabrics and materials to better ensure long-term use by our client and their ever growing family.

Full Service Interior Decorating and New Construction Project

Nobis is a single-family home in the Winter Garden, Florida. Gail Barley Interiors assisted from initial blueprints and conception to final installs of all furnishings to bring this forever home to life.

Special attention paid to the location

Nobis backs up to a well-loved and used nature trail. We wanted to ensure that the home would look beautiful from the front but also still feel private on the trail side. Smart placement on the lot provided our client with easy access to the trail, but still plenty of privacy.

Interior Decorating StylE

Truly a glam and fabulous client, we wanted the home to feel like our client’s personality was shining through. Stepping through the front door, you immediately know whose home you are in. Glam accents in lighting, gold backed counter stools, and bright blue walls — nothing about this house says “boring”.

Color Palette

Nearby Winter Park is famous for its local peacocks. After seeing them in the area, our client wanted to pay homage to the peacock and we used it as our defining color palette. The deep blues and greens seen in the peacock feathers are featured throughout the home and even on the exterior shutters. Look closely, and you’ll see the large artwork of a peacock in the foyer as well as some subtle peacocks in the sofa pillows.

Curated Items

While scrolling on TikTok one day, our client was stopped in their tracks by a gorgeous green slab of stone being shown off on countertop supplier’s page. Our client immediately sent it to us and their builder to see if we could make it happen. With some help from the builder and the countertop supplier, we were able to get the countertop shipped across the country and beautifully installed in their main kitchen. An incredible piece of stone, the entire design was developed to enhance and show off the green countertops - as unique as our client.

Unique challenges

At Nobis, there always needs to be space for more family. We ensured that there was plenty of seating throughout the home, as well as cleanable, and durable fabrics to withstand the many children who run through it.
